<strong>THE WOOD ENGRAVING</strong>
The little-known technique of wood engraving, which dates back to the 18th century, is used by Robert Schanzenbacher as a means of artistic expression. As material he uses end grain maple, box or pear wood. Although the printing block processed with the graver permits fine structures, the relatively high degree of wear and tear results in a severe limitation of the print run. Due to the complex process, this technique has remained a rarity to this day.
